Besides being a deejay, she is also a very talented actress. Photoshoot with Frederick Lee | 李洺中

Photoshoot with Frederick Lee |李洺中

My first entry of the year 2010. Happy New Year to everyone!!! A break away from all the weddings photos entries, and here is an entry on the photoshoot with Malaysian celebrity, Lee Ming Zhong.

Lee Ming Zhong is the younger brother of Christopher Lee (
李铭顺), the famous Malaysian actor who is making it big in our neighbouring country, Singapore. For those who is still at a blank, Frederick's sister-in-law is the famous Singaporean actress, Fann Wong (范文芳).

Looking back...my hair was terrible and I looked out of shape but this was a good shot.

Photoshoot with Yise Loo

Artist : Yise Loo (pronounced Luo Yi Shi) | 罗忆诗
Profession: Singer

I became aware of Yise a few years back when the radio aired her songs. Her voice really caught my attention as it was so fresh and energetic, it just felt there was something different about this singer. Fast forward a few years later, and I am working with her on a photoshoot for the magazine feature.

Yise is a witty, fun and talented artist. She was so natural with the camera that is was so easy and fun to work with her. We started the session slowly, but as the shooting went on, she became warmer and more natural. One of the best and most friendly artist I have worked with.

Originally hailed from Johor, Yise is now based mostly in PJ, with occasional trips to China to promote her album. She is trying to reach out to every corner of the world and I wish her all the best. Check her out yourself! She has a facebook fans club and blog.

An Interview with William San

WHO IS THE DUDE: William San aka 辛伟廉
WHERE ABOUT: Alexis Gardens
WHAT CAMERA: Nikon D300 with Tamron 28-75mm 2.8f lens
HOW : As usual, the interview was done casually over yum cha session. William was very friendly and outspoken, so we chatted for quite a long time. A few drinks and some cakes with a whole lot of gossips about the local and Singapore industry, it was time to roll the camera. I settled for the bar which looks great with its bottles collection on the shelves. The place was dimly lighted, I relied on the natural lighting coming from the sun piercing through the many windows into the bar area.

Here are the few I like best. There are some difference between my chosen ones and those that was sent for print for the magazine. All these were shot with the following settings; F2.8 aperture, 1/40 exposure and ISO400.

This was the chosen one which was used for print. But I prefer the 2 other selections below.

William the Thinker.

Hilarious moment during shooting. My selection for this was sort of influenced by Wing Shya's advice, official photographer for most of Wong Kar Wai's movies.

Charming & Beautiful TV Hostess

She appeared cheerful, though not as bubbly as the hostess seen on the travel show, nonetheless, still very polite and answered to each and every requests and questions without any hesitation.

As the interview began, I've had my camera ready in hand, happily snapping away shots of Xiao Yu as she pondered and answered to the interview questions.

I was using the Nikkor 50mm 1.8f lens for this series.

Photobucket
Some candid shots. Smiling sweetly every now and then during the interview.

She was doing this a lot, playing around with her hair!

We wrapped up the shooting and interview around 3.30pm. After that, each and everyone of us had a meet-the-star photo taking with Xiao Yu. The usual must-do after every interview and photoshoot. It's not everyday you get to get up,closed and personal with a TV personality!
